Description
A capybara climbs a colossal tower while its weapons fire on their own: bullet heaven crossed with classic platforming.
Capy of Gods is an action roguelike in which a capybara climbs a colossal tower while its weapons fire on their own. It mixes the wave combat of a bullet heaven with classic platforming and dodge-dashing, across procedurally generated floors. The demo is free on Steam now and the full game is planned for October 2026.
Description
In Capy of Gods you do not shoot: you climb. The capybara's weapons attack on their own while the player focuses on climbing, dodging and choosing how to grow. The result is a roguelike that crosses two genres that rarely meet: the enemy tide of a bullet heaven in the style of Vampire Survivors, and classic vertical platforming with a dodge dash.
Every run starts at the bottom and climbs through procedurally generated floors, so no two ascents are the same. Along the way there are shops, hidden rooms, structures that ask for blood in exchange for power, and more than 18 bosses with hand-made mechanics: one teleports around the player and charges, another predicts where you are going to dodge. One detail defines the game's rhythm: you do not stumble into the floor boss, you summon it yourself, when you decide you are ready. Keep farming and arrive stronger, or call it early and take the risk.
What you lose on death is not lost entirely. The rubies that leave the tower are persistent and are spent between runs on permanent attributes, weapons, characters and new items, so every failed attempt leaves something behind.
Capy of Gods is made by one person in Godot and ships translated into 19 languages.
Features
- 12 playable capybaras, each with a signature starting weapon and a passive that grows with level
- Automatic weapons that stack and combine as you level up, plus 26 animal instincts
- Procedurally generated floors: no two runs are the same
- More than 18 bosses with their own mechanics, and a floor boss you summon yourself when you are ready
- Full meta-progression: rubies persist between runs and unlock attributes, weapons, items and characters
- Two global Steam leaderboards active during the demo (most kills in a run and best floor time)
- 19 languages, full keyboard and controller support
History
Capy of Gods started in December 2025 as a small vertical-jumping prototype and grew into a full roguelike once automatic weapons and enemy waves were added on top of the platforming. Development is done by a single person under the CapyEmber name.
A free demo covering the first 100 floors went live on Steam in July 2026 and has been updated since with new characters, weapons, instincts and events. The full game, with three phases of the tower, is planned for October 2026.

The legend
There was a time when treasure hunters were the celebrities of the world: rich, famous, adored. Sir Capy Drake was the greatest of them all. Until one day he walked into one ancient ruin too many and dug up something that did not belong to this world.
Shortly after news of the find spread, Drake vanished without a trace. No body, no letter, not even a boot.
That same season, a colossal tower appeared out of nowhere in the snowy mountains north of the capital, Sweetwater. From its summit burns a red light that stains every dawn. That is why those mountains stopped being called the White Mountains and are known today as the Crimson Peaks.
Word spread that inside were thousands of treasures and objects of strange magic. Hunters and thieves from all over the world marched there, and the tavern at the foot of the tower became their refuge. On its walls hang the posters of every famous climber next to the wealth they have taken out of the tower: half hall of fame, half scoreboard.
Over the years the final rumour was born: at the very top waits a treasure capable of turning whoever holds it into a god.
And so began the maddest race the world has ever seen. They called it Capy of Gods.
