Capy of Gods

How to play

Controls, experience, level-ups, chests, summoning the boss and reaching the next floor.

Your weapons fire on their own. You never aim (with one exception: the Sniper Rifle, which can be aimed manually with the mouse or the right stick). Your job is to move, jump, dash and choose.

The dash

The dash is your dodge. While dashing you are invincible, so it is the answer to boss charges, lasers and projectile walls. It also gives you horizontal reach for platforming. It has a short cooldown, so do not waste it.

Experience and level-ups

Enemies drop watermelons: that is your experience. Collect them to level up. Each level-up offers three cards: a new weapon, an upgrade to a weapon you carry, or an animal instinct (a passive). Cards have rarities and higher rarities give bigger upgrades. Your luck stat shifts the odds toward rare cards.

You carry up to three weapons and three instincts by default. The Weapon Slot and Instinct Slot attributes, bought with rubies, add up to two more of each.

Gold, chests and the shop

Enemies also drop gold, which only lasts for the current run. Spend it on chests scattered around the tower, at the merchant's shop, at the vending machine (which fuses three items into one of higher rarity), or at the Capybara Springs to heal. Chests give items: passive objects with their own effects that stack in your backpack.

Structures worth knowing

  • Dark Pact: hit it with your weapons enough times and it offers power in exchange for maximum health.
  • Mouth of Truth: trades gold for health, in five tiers.
  • Capybara Springs: the first bath in each spring is free and heals half your health. The next ones ask for a tip.
  • Side rooms: hidden corridors and zigzag climbs off the main tower, guarded by traps, with a golden chest at the end.
  • Breakables: crates and pots that drop gold and temporary power-ups.

Summoning the floor boss

Near the top of each floor there is a Piano Skeleton. Interact with it to summon the floor boss. There is no timer forcing you: keep farming to arrive stronger, or call it early to save time on the leaderboard. When the boss dies, a Passage opens to the next floor. You keep your weapons, instincts, items, level and gold. The tower regenerates.

The Raging Horde

After 10 minutes on a floor the progress bar breaks and the Raging Horde begins: the tower fills with Lost Souls that get stronger every minute. The colour of the bar tells you the current horde level. Reaching high horde levels is itself a mission goal, but staying too long rarely pays.

Dying

Death ends the run, but not the progress. You keep every ruby you collected and every mission counter you advanced. The recap screen shows your damage by source, the run summary and anything you unlocked.
